Jonatha Brooke has been writing songs, making records and touring since her early days in Boston with her band The Story, which released two albums, Grace in Gravity and The Angelital in the House, on Elektra Records. In 1995, Ms. Brooke released the first of two solo albums on Plumb, followed by Ten Cent Wings in 1997. In 1999 she started her own independent label, Bad Dog Records and has since released six more albums. Her most recent release, The Works, combined previously unheard, unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics with her own music and arrangements.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The most prestigious classical music contest in the world, Van Cliburn International Piano Competition occurs every four years, with 30 competitors between the ages of 18 and 30, playing over four days. playing over 4 days.

A native of the San Francisco Bay area, Daniel Hsu began piano studies at age 6. He was accepted at age 10 to the Curtis Institute of Music. In 2016, Mr. Hsu was named a Gilmore Young Artist Award and won the bronze medal at the 9th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition. As first-prize winner of the 2015 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, Mr.Hsu made his Carnegie Hall debut in April 2017.
He made his solo debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in June 2016, and concerto appearances this season include concerts with the Grand Rapids Symphony, New Haven Symphony, and Symphonia Boca Raton. His notable recitals include appearances at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts; Chicago’s Dame Myra Hess Concert Series; and Merkin Concert Hall’s Tuesday matinee series in New York.

The 960 seat theater presents professional Broadway style shows, concerts, comedy performances and musicals. It is also utilized by regional and national groups to present many genres of music concerts and a wide variety of performances. The MCPA has a smaller hall as well which is ideal for intimate performances, wedding receptions, business events and training sessions. Ample parking on site.
